Allspice
Dried, whole, brownish brown berries. It belongs to the species Pimenta dioica.
Its aroma and taste resemble a mixture of spices.
It is used in some stews, sauces, as a seasoning for vegetables.
pickles, in sausage making and in aromatic Christmas cakes. It is widely used in Mexican mole sauces and curry making.
It is also a typical ingredient in barbecue sauces.
